Multiwavelength Observations of the Powerful γ-ray Quasar PKS 1510−089: Clues on the Jet Composition
We present the results from a multiwavelength campaign conducted in August 2006 of the powerful γ-ray quasar PKS 1510−089 (z = 0.361). This campaign commenced with a deep Suzaku observation lasting three days for a total exposure time of 120 ks, and continued with Swift monitoring over 18 days. Besides Swift observations, which sampled the optical/UV flux in all 6 UVOT filters as well as the X-...

متن کاملAGILE detection of a rapid γ - ray flare from the blazar PKS 1510 - 089 during the GASP - WEBT monitoring ⋆
Context. We report the detection by the AGILE satellite of a rapid γ-ray flare from the source 1AGL J1511−0908, associated with the powerful γ-ray quasar PKS 1510−089, during a pointing centered on the Galactic Center region from 1 March to 30 March 2008. This source has been continuosly monitored in the radio-to-optical bands by the GLAST-AGILE Support Program (GASP) of the Whole Earth Blazar ...
متن کاملA Rapid X-ray Flare in the Radio-loud Narrow Line Quasar Pks 0558-504
We report the detection of a very short time scale flare in the radio-loud narrow line quasars PKS 0558-504 by using ASCA. The X-ray count rates increased and decreased by a factor of two in 33 minutes, and possibly by 40% in as short as two minutes during this flare, confirming that such flare event does occur in this object with imaging detectors. The implied largest rate of change in luminos...
متن کاملOptical Monitoring of PKS 1510−089: A Binary Black Hole System?
Three deep flux minima were observed with nearly the same time-scales and intervals for the blazar PKS 1510−089 in the past few years. A binary black hole system was proposed to be at the nucleus of this object, and a new minimum was predicted to occur in 2002 March. We monitored this source with a 60/90 cm Schmidt telescope from 2002 February to April. In combination with the data obtained by ...
